Carol Stauss

Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I have been fortunate to share my skills for 39 1/2 years at Saddle Brook High School as both an art /photography teacher. Having an innate ability to “see” the world and its beauty, I encourage students, colleagues, friends and family to do the same. Sharing thoughts on composition, lighting, and technical aspects of the digital world is crucial to the end product. However, my students who ranged in age 16 through 18 did not leave my classroom with just an expertise necessary to produce high quality photography and art, they departed with important life lessons: mutual respect builds trust, the attempt is as important as the product, and beauty is everywhere if one only has the “eye” to see it. When all was said and done in my classroom, I truly believe my students “saw more in a short walk than others see in a trip around the world.”

I thoroughly enjoyed my high school position and the students I had been privileged to enlighten. Despite leaving a profession I was truly devoted, I am attempting a venture as a landscape artist. A number of the photos displayed are from the local parks; Nutley and Belleville. Waterfalls are located in Child's Park, Penn. and Buttermilk Falls, NJ. Landscapes include Pleasant Acres, Cape May,and the Jersey Shore area.

Currently I am a Supervisor to Student Teachers at Monmouth University.

Feel free to contact me for the purchase of any of the photos displayed, or if you have a favorite location. I have more than 40,000 photos in my portfolio.
